In Sudan a very little goes a long way.
With your help Together for Sudan can expand it's
vital educational work and create small miracles in people's lives. Please
contribute to one of the following TFS Projects helping displaced and
marginalised Sudanese hold on to life and hope in a time of change.
*Women's Literacy Classes.
Help a displaced woman help others! Just £225($392.88) pays the
part-time salary of a literacy teacher for an entire year.
*University scholarships in
Sudan. Make a young woman's future! A university
scholarship in Khartoum typically costs around £400 ($698.46) per
year.
*Hostel for university
students. Help pay the rent so students can live in a
place where there is light to study by! Any amount will help.
*Teachers' salaries in
self-help schools. Do something very special for an entire
classroom of children! £400 ($698.46) will pay their
teacher's salary for one year.
*Scholarships for HIV/AIDS
affected children. £100 ($174.62) will pay school tuition
and provide necessary family support.
*Technical and vocational
training. This much needed project is just starting! A
gift in any amount would be gratefully received.
Educational Support
*Eye Care Project. £15
($26.19) will buy a child a pair of prescription glasses and £50
($87.30) will pay for cataract surgery and follow up for her
grandmother.
*Solar Lighting Project.
£40 ($69.85) allows one year maintenance of a solar
lighting panel which lights up the lives of hundreds of people off
the electricity grid. For £600 ($1047.69) you can pay for
installation of a solar lighting system which will benefit an entire
community.
*Breakfast Project.
For £50 ($87.30) you can buy breakfast for a kindergarten child for
one school year. For many children this will be the main meal of
the day.
*Medicine Box Project.
£600 ($1047.69) will provide a month's supply of basic
medicines for several hundred displaced people.
*HIV/AIDS Home-based Care.
Tell a widowed and HIV positive mother that she is not
alone! £150 ($261.92)will allow us to provide home-based care,
including some food and medicines, for about three months.
*Return of TFS university
graduates to the Nuba Mountains as teachers. Build a
community! £400 ($698.46) enables us to re-establish two university
graduates back in the Nuba Mountains as teachers.
*Support the team!
Donations in any amount will help us pay the salaries of our 13
full-time Sudanese employees as well as pay the rent for our offices
in Khartoum and Kadugli, the Nuba Mountains.
These are only a few of the ways in which you can
help. The recent North-South peace agreement in Sudan provides an
opportunity to Together for Sudan to expand its vital task of supporting
educational work; helping the displaced
and marginalised Sudanese hold on to life and hope in a time of change.
Donations of any amount are gratefully
received. Please make Sterling or Euro cheques payable to
